Some things are best old school

woohoo! had a blast today at the boardgames meet up session since it was like a minds cafe outing minus the costs and plus people who were really interested in playing. Played for hours with an European, an asian and a singaporean games and games and it was really interesting to be exposed to games that i never knew off. Each game required a different set of skills and thinking so the session was truly a rather intellectual experience, where I had to come up with different schemes to try and win the others.

In particular, I thought it was the presence of the skilled players that made playing more interesting since they knew how to handle a threat when they sensed one which, although it irritated me, made me look deeper and wider for another tactic. It was really nice to see the expressions of others when a certain action was done which is something that computer games cannot offer me, no matter how hard to try to create multiplayer gaming platform to enhance players interaction. Had a whale of a time and I really looked forward to the next session.

Anyone care to join?
